Pregnancy & Postpartum Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy
During Pregnancy, a women’s body undergoes dramatic changes including: weight gain, change in posture and ligament laxity to accommodate the growth and arrival of baby. This transformation is aided by the release of the hormone relaxin, which promotes greater joint mobility, particularly in the pelvis and lower back.
However, when the pelvic bones are not moving properly and the nervous system becomes irritated, various discomforts may arise, such as lower back, pelvic and pubic bone pain, sciatica, round ligament pain and more. It’s important to understand that while pregnancy pains are common, they’re neither INEVITABLE nor NORMAL!
